April 9-10-11, 2010
Infineon Raceway, Sonoma, CA.
CSRG’s 44th Season Opener, celebrating 100 years of Alfa Romeo and including a CSRG “Get into Vintage Racing” Drivers' School. Friday, April 9, starts with the first of two, CSRG Drivers' Schools. This mini-course will feature classroom and on track instruction and is a great way for new comers to get acquainted with the sport and for long-term vintage racers to refresh their skills. There will be open practice available for race entrants on Friday afternoon as well. On Sat and Sun, April 10 & 11 there will be feature practice and racing for entrants, including traditional race groups as well as a celebration of the 100th Anniversary of Alfa Romeo. Included is a Marque race for Alfa Romeos featuring not only the usual CSRG range of Vintage and Historic models but also significant Alfa Romeos from years later than CSRG's traditional cut-off date of 1967. Look for more details to be announced soon.
CSRG welcomes non-members with eligible cars to enter this event.
May 14-15-16, 2010
Thunderhill Raceway Park, Willows, CA.
CSRG’s “Rolling Thunder”, including the 2nd edition of CSRG’s 2010 Drivers' School. On Friday, May 14, the Driver’s School returns for those interested in getting into the sport of vintage racing or who just want to hone their skills. School participants will be challenging the long straights and high-speed corners of this technical race rack set in the Northern Central Valley of California. There will also be afternoon testing available to race entrants.
Sat and Sun, May 15 and 16, features practice and races for CSRG traditional race groups, with everything from Production GT cars to Formula cars going flat out down Thunderhill’s famously long front straight.
CSRG welcomes non-members with eligible cars to enter this event.
October 1-2-3, 2010
Infineon Raceway, Sonoma, CA.
The 7th Annual CSRG Charity Challenge, featuring Historic F1 cars. Practice on Friday, and practice and racing on Saturday and Sunday. This will be the 7th Annual Charity Challenge, benefiting Speedway Childrens' Charities of Sonoma. CSRG members have donated over $600,000 to this worthy cause since the Charity Challenge began in 2003. This will be a heavily promoted spectator event, with fan activities like track rides, raffles and race gear sales center. The featured run group will be Historic, 3 liter F1 cars from HGP and invited Formula Atlantic cars. Check back for announcements of event sponsors, and special activities for competitors and spectators alike.
CSRG welcomes non-members with eligible cars to enter this event.
October 30-31, 2010,
Thunderhill Raceway Park, Willows, CA.
CSRG’s 44th Season Finale and Awards Dinner. Practice and racing on Saturday and Sunday for entries in the traditional CSRG run groups. And as is the custom, a special out of the ordinary race event will be run to test racers driving, negotiating, and perhaps prevaricating skills for absolutely no reward except the fun of participation. This end of year event always proves to be good fun and a great way to cap a fantastic season of vintage racing and worthwhile socializing with good friends.
CSRG welcomes non-members with eligible cars to enter this event.

.
The sound limit for this weekend is 101db so be prepared to 'hush' your car just a bit!
Because of the full schedule CSRG Mechanical Picnic may be curtailed or for this event.
The tentative schedule for the weekend is-
Friday, April 9th:
Roving Tech inspection and Registration throughout the paddock will open about 10:00 AM We'll announce details here later and in your acceptance letter – Tech and registration will remain open until 5:00 PM. Friday Practice Groups will run according to a published schedule between 1:00 PM and 6:00 PM.
Saturday & Sunday, April 10th & 11th:
Vintage Racing – Tech will be near the Infineon Business Center on Saturday morning. Both days will feature practice and racing by groups. There will be practice and race groups for all entries on both days. A final schedule will be mailed along with your acceptance letters.
Saturday evening we are planning to serve finger food in significant proportions and “thirst quenchers” at the track for entrants and crews.
Questions about the event should be directed to info@CSRGracing.org , or Race_Director@CSRGWeb.org or call CSRG at 888.268.7126.
Entry Deadline and Refund Policy:
The deadline for entries by mail is March 11th, 2010. Online entries can be accommodated through April 4th. However if your race group is heavily subscribed entries will be accepted on a "first come first served" basis and you may not be able to participate.
The refund deadline is March 1st. If you can’t make it for any reason, make a request for a refund to RaceDirector@CSRGWeb.org before March 1st and we will refund your entry fee (less a $50 charge) or apply it as a credit to another CSRG event in 2010. Remember it is easier to refund your entry than it is to add you as a late entry.
We look forward to seeing you this first race weekend of CSRG’s 43rd season of vintage racing!
A FEW REMINDERS:
- The use of GLYCOL-based antifreeze is not permitted in racecars at any of our venues.
- SA2000 or newer helmets are required this season.
- Racetrack insurance policy requires all pets to be on a leash during the event.
- An adult must supervise all children less than 16 years of age at all times.
- The speed limit in the paddock is 10 mph – for everyone – skateboard, moped, and yes, racecars.
We are looking for technical inspectors to help on the weekends. Please give Rick Hutchings a call at 541.582.1103, to volounteer or help us on grid, etc.
Medical Cards
Use of the VMC-approved medical form is mandatory for securing a CSRG Medical Card. All (4) pages of the original form are required to be on file with CSRG. This form is available by calling CSRG at 888.268.7126. If you need to renew your medical card prior to this event, please have your completed form to CSRG at least 2 weeks PRIOR to the event. Remember that your medical card is only good for two 2 years, 1 year if you’re over the age of 60. Translation – “You must have had a medical exam within two years of this event and have submitted the signed original 4-page form (copies are not acceptable) to CSRG”.
CSRG Membership
If you haven’t already done so, please send in your $100.00 membership dues ($60 for nonracing associate member) along with the renewal form for this season. Please make sure the information on the form is correct, it’s the only way we have of contacting you. An simpler way to accomplish this is to go online to http://csrg.rrevs.net, login and renew your membership using your credit card.
